CREATIVE WRITING COURSES ON PAXOS IN SUMMER 2009

If you have ever wanted to hone your creative writing skills, what better place to do so than on the Greek island of Paxos, a truly inspirational location in the Ionian Sea just nine miles south of Corfu?

And you now have the opportunity to do just that, because in May 2009 we shall be running two writing courses here that will be suitable for both complete beginners and also for those with more experience.

Both courses will be led by Judi Goodwin, a journalist and trainer with wide experience in both print and broadcast media. Judi has been a regular feature writer for The Daily Telegraph, Radio Times, Manchester Evening News, Homes and Gardens, House Beautiful and Ideal Home. And for five years she was also a freelance broadcaster for BBC Radio on Woman’s Hour and You and Yours. Judi runs courses in London for professional writers and has trained journalists on some of Britain’s leading magazines.

‘Writing and Selling Features’ (5 – 9 May 2009) is aimed at anyone who wants to learn how to write about travel, hobbies, people, life experiences, personal or professional matters and find a market for their articles. The course will teach you all the tricks of the journalist’s trade, including how to find and develop stories, write and interview like a pro, and successfully pitch ideas; in fact, all the know-how you need to get your articles into print.

‘Unleash Your Writing Power’ (12 – 16 May 2009) is an inspirational and innovative workshop that will unblock the barriers to your creativity and provide an opportunity to build confidence, power and fluency in an atmosphere of fun and discovery. Whether you want to write stories, family history, articles or best sellers – even business communications or a personal journal - come and discover skills you may never have realised you had. Equally suitable for experienced writers or beginners, this workshop will help you inject energy, power and magic into everything you write. Learn the secret of really connecting with your readers at a deep and powerful level by first connecting with yourself.

Each course will consist of five half-day group sessions and there will also be the opportunity for some one-to-one sessions, when you will be able to talk over individual difficulties, projects, ambitions or concerns. The courses are equally suitable for those with previous experience and for complete beginners; what is important is a desire to write.

We shall be marketing the courses inclusive of accommodation in a shared villa, and so they will be ideal for anyone travelling alone.

Prices will be available shortly and, as there will be just 12 places on each course, early booking will be essential. There will be a special early booking price if you book by 31 December 2008 and, if you book both courses, we will also discount the price of the second course.
