Our next meeting takes place on Tuesday 3rd February at 7.30 pm in the Cafe Libra at Felixstowe Library and will be chaired by Alex.
The homework assignment is to write 500 words on 'Climate Change' whilst the 1,500 open themed work will be provided by Les and Trish.
It has been a quite eventful time since our last meeting when the Bill Budner Trophy was deservedly won by Barry and now we all have to wait another four long months before it is up for grabs again.
Last weekend saw our best ever social function, for the first time booking a hotel and guest speaker. Maureen Blundell was excellent for not only did she undertake the after dinner talk but earlier in the day had one to one sessions with some of our writers then followed up with a group session on the Sunday morning.
The hotel was excellent, the food delicious and the atmosphere really warming. Suffice to say ours is such a lovely group of writers who all really gel - such is the 'Felixstowe Scribblers Experience'! Of course none of this would have happened without first Alex's suggestion about holding the social at a hotel rather than one of our previous, but sociable, events at local hostelleries.
We do have to thank Ruth and of course her parents for making the evening so successful. Well done!
Until Tuesday,
Keep scribbling!
