The next meeting of the Felixstowe Scribblers takes place on Tuesday 2nd September 2008 at the Cafe Libra in Felixstowe Library. Start time 7.30pm. 500 word creative homework assignment is "SAUSAGES". Get your teeth into that!
The Jack Wilkinson Memorial Walk in aid of Cancer Research takes place on Sunday 14th September with the choice of either a 5 mile or 9 mile sponsored walk. Details and sponsorship forms available from the Scribblers.
Coming soon, on Tuesday 16th September 2008 - The Bill Budner Trophy, an anonymous competition for attending Scribblers only.
Organised in memory of Bill Budner who died suddenly from a massive heart attack on Tuesday 14th February 2006, the trophy was purchased from the prize money donated by Belinda Janz after winning an earlier competition. The trophy is engraved with the winner's name then held for four months until the next competition. Previous winners have been :

Dick Bradshaw
Bill joined Felixstowe Scribblers in August 2005 and quickly made lots of friends within the group, enjoying his writing and producing some prolific words in his short stories. His mild manner and quiet voice portrayed every single word that he wrote. Away from Scribblers Bill was a lay preacher and heavily involved with church
affairs at St Mary's Church, in Walton.
